Friday 6/6
Left work around 4pm to get a jump on traffic.  By the time I got to Concord and did my food stop, I didn't get to the track until about 7pm.  Traffic sucked.   Since this is the start of bike week up at Laconia, the roads were full of pickup trucks that were towing big fat motorcycles.  I got through registration and went in to set up shop.

Saturday 6/7
The weather was looking good..  I went out for practice.  First practice is always slow, but second felt better.  I didn't check my times at all, because I figured they were terrible, but it turns out I got a 1:24.9 in my second practice!   that made me happy.  Immediately before the races began, it started to rain.   I waited as long as possible, but mounting rain tires was inevitable.  At least it was warmer than 40 degrees this time!

GP Singles
When the grids were posted, they had the Experts listed as wave 1, and the Junior and Amateurs as wave 2.  When we got to the starting grid, I noticed there was no one there with the wave 2 board (which they always have for a 2 wave start), so when the green flag dropped, I left the starting line.  Aside from one other Junior (who gridded himself with the back of the experts) I was one of the few who left with the Experts.   The starter was apparently confused, as this is always a one wave start, so he did a quick 1 board for the remainder of the pack and they left the line.  I managed to hold onto 5th, although I thought I would get 4th..  and it was worth 8 points.   I got a new best rain time, but it's still pretty slow in conjunction with the rest of the pack.. gotta work on that!

LWGP
I headed of to the grid, but my bike wouldn't start.. I pushed it all the way, and got a little help from someone, and managed to get it started just as the grid was leaving for the warm-up lap.  I couldn't remember what my grid position was, so I just found a spot on the front row and went from there <G>.  The race was pretty uneventful.. I was doing pretty well in 5th, and catching up to an expert when I got passed and went down a spot.  I stuck with him for the last couple laps.. but couldn't get him back.  Good enough for 6th spot and 7 more points.  One spot out of trophies again!

Sun 6/8
I went out for both practices and felt really good in second practice.. even though I was going slower than Sat.  Hung around the track and watched races, and helped people wrench.  I haven't hung out like that in a while, so it was fun.  Overall a really fun weekend, even in the rain!
