When: Oct 2, 2004
Where: NHIS

Friday 10/1
Left work by 4:30, did some errands, picked up the trailer and headed north.   I stopped by Steve's to pick up some 250 parts, had dinner and went to the track.   I spent some time getting the 125 set up for NHIS, and was in bed by midnight.

Saturday 10/2
The weather was supposed to be 70F and sunny, but ended up being 55F and overcast with fog rolling around.  The fog mostly cleared before the races, but it never got above 60F.   I skipped first practice but went out for 4 laps to check jetting etc in second practice.

125 GP
I got a 2nd row start position and a decent start.  I got made my way through some traffic, but stuck behind a motard for the first 5 or 6 laps.  He was just a tad slower, so I had a hard time getting past him.  I finally got around him and started catching up with a small pack of riders in front of me, but ran out of laps.   I got a new best time of 1:21.5, but was disappointed with my performance overall.

LWGP
I was gridded on the 6th row and  got a terrible start.  I got swallowed by a pack of 4-strokes, and ended up doing more riding than racing.  I wasn't really in the mood to battle with the big machines, so I hung back for a while and let the crowd thin out.  I passed a handful of bikes, but didn't really put any big efforts in, and never had any clean laps.  I still managed to click off some 1:21's, but was again disappointed in my performance, as I felt I could have dropped at least another second off my lap times.  Oh well.. it's the last weekend of the year at a track I didn't really want to race at anyways.

I got the bikes ready for lots of non-use, hung out and went to dinner with the gang.   I got home around midnight.
